We've had quite a few people doing a reboot and then wondering where
their new IPs went.
The reason why it happens is:
- Reboot or anything else short of a shut down and boot does not
re-create the virtual machine. You keep the same virtual machine
instance you had before.
- Reboot *is* enough to set your network interface down, so all
routes go away.
- When your network interface comes back up, you get the routes back
that you had last time the virtual machine was created. i.e. No
routes for new IPs that were added since your last boot.
If you did reboot and are wondering where your new IPs went,
shutting down and booting again would force a new VM to be created
from config file with all your IP addresses routed to you.
Cheers,
Andy
