sol.bitfolk.com just stopped responding, and being
unable to get any
response from serial console I had to power cycle it. It has now
booted and I am having a look around for any ideas as to why it
locked up, before attempting to restart any customer VPSes.
I could not find any hint of what the problem may have been, and
everything was looking okay so I started booting all customer VPSes.
At this point they are all believed to be running again.
Previous uptime was 431 days so many will be doing a fsck and this
will impact IO performance a little for perhaps the next half hour.
If your VPS on sol is not responding, please have a look at its
console to see what it is doing. If you still have issues please
send a support ticket.
Normally if we have things in Nagios that we know are meant to be
up, and they aren't, then we will investigate further. I have done
this and there is nothing currently reporting as down. If you
haven't got any Nagios monitoring and you would like some added,
please email support(a)bitfolk.com.
Also if you weren't previously aware of our twitter feed, it is used
to give shorter and faster updates during times like these:

Owing to the lack of diagnostics I unfortunately have no idea what
went wrong and will now be keeping a close eye on the server. If
there are further problems then we'll have to look at replacing
hardware from spares.
Thank you for your patience and apologies for the disruption.
Cheers,
Andy
