It sounds like a dead end if you wanted 123-reg to host a reverse
zone, yes.

Yes, delegate wherever you like. Just make sure that the
nameserver(s) you're delegating to are actually serving the zone
first. Should the Panel check for that instead of just letting you
delegate to something that won't work?

So that means that if you would like secondary service from BitFolk,
please put in the support ticket for that before you do the
delegation.

No.

Also, some people choose to have their VPS as a hidden master; the
secondary servers AXFR from it but it is not present in the NS set
in the zone.
