Hi,
Due to a punishing workload, I left my renumbering to the last minute
and it's not worked right.
Here is my new /etc/network/interfaces:

I'd be really grateful if someone would point out my stupid and obvious
mistake.

Your netmask on eth0 is too wide ranging, I'm guessing it should be
255.255.255.248 to cover a block of 8 IPs on the server.

Bah, forget that my brain is far too into my ADSL configuration having just
been changing it!
I note your default gateway is 85.119.80.1, whereas mine is set to 85.119.82.1.
That said, the documentation quotes the one you are using, so arguably mine
shouldn't work, but it does!!
This will really teach me not to try and be helpful when I'm feeling lousy and
should really just put the computer down and go to bed!

I haven't yet read the rest of the thread but I'd guess at "did a
reboot instead of a shut down + boot and lost route to new IPs as a
result".
I note your default gateway is 85.119.80.1, whereas
mine is set to 85.119.82.1.
That said, the documentation quotes the one you are using, so arguably mine
shouldn't work, but it does!!
It will work, but will end up doing strange things if the customer
at 85.119.82.1 ever ends up on the same node as you. You should
probably fix it if you don't want them to receive some of your
traffic.

Yes, I've done that now, although I did wait unti this morning just to be sure
my brain was functioning properly. There are some things you relly don't want
to make a mess of because you're not quite on top form! That's the joy of

Everything you pasted looked fine to me. Do you by any chance have any
firewall rules that reference the old IPs or ranges explicitly?
This should show them
# iptables -L -n | fgrep 212.13.19

BTW, shouldn't 85.119.82.67/32 be 85.119.82.67/21?
netmask for your secondary address is inconsistent with the netmask for your primary
eth0.

/32 netmasks work fine for additional IPs on the same network as
other IPs. It is a matter of great debate and personal taste though.
