I've had a look at logwatch on my Debian VPS and can see that the
/etc/cron.daily/00logwatch file which gets run contains the line
"/usr/sbin/logwatch --mailto root" , so it looks like the mailto option
is being set on the command line, which will override the config file.
Removing that command line option will probably make it use the settings
in the config files. I've not tried it though, I'm happy with logwatch
mails going to root (and then to elsewhere via /etc/aliases).
