I seem to recall some discussion about Mastodon on
here a while ago. I'd
appreciate guidance about using a Bitfolk VPS for a multi-user Mastodon
instance.
Specifically, I'm trying to get an idea of how much RAM and storage we'd
need for say, 50 or 100 users.
It has only around 30 active users, more registered, but many are idle.
It's currently using 172GB disk space, 11GB RAM, 7GB swap and the 8 core
CPU hovers around 20-30% most of the time.
Average traffic is 1.5Mbit/s all day.
I have enabled elasticsearch which chews quite a bit of RAM.
I'm relaying with a couple of other instances, which account for half the
bandwidth use.
Hope that's helpful.
Lemme know if there's other more interesting data you'd like.
Cheers,
Al.
