Not necessarilly. Success would depend on a number of factors such as
whether you had agreed to automatic renewals when signing up.
Not directly related to DNS, but success at getting a DD refunded
doesn't depend on any factors. If you tell your bank to reverse a DD,
then they just have to do it - that's part of the DD guarantee. Banks
don't have to assess the rights of the case, and indeed are not
generally competent to do so.
Of course, if you still owe whoever the money then they can legally
pursue you for it, and suspend services or whatever.
I've had to use the DD guarantee a few times - most prominently when
Demon's accounts department went completely rogue a few years back and
started debiting large and completely unjustified sums of money.
