Won't help -- *everything* stops. All connections hang up in the
same way at the same time, so we won't see the top output.
It might also be worth connecting one SSH session to
the console,
and seeing if you get the same delays then. Try pinging out to
google.com from the console, and see if the ping gets affected by
these ‘pauses’.
I'll have a go with that and see what happens.
