Hi,
At approximately 16:52Z, something went wrong on faustino and it
become impossible to start any new VPS.
While attempting to resolve the issue without a reboot, at
approximately 17:00Z unfortunately all VPSes ended up being hard
shut down (roughly equivalent to a power cycle), and then being
unable to restart them meant that a reboot of the server was
required.
All VPSes on faustino were up and running again by approximately
17:16Z.
As to the root cause of the issue, there is very little to go on.
Nothing useful was logged as regards the initial issue, although I
have now at least learned not to attempt to restart one particular
daemon in future.
I will be making putting the new hardware into service my top
priority as I believe it's the best way of avoiding these bugs,
although faustino had been up for 101 days, much of that with no
additional VPSes being added, so this particular issue is probably
not a well known one.
Again, my apologies for the disruption.
Regards,
Andy
