Hello,
I need to renew a RapidSSL wildcard SSL certificate and I feel like
shopping around. Who on this list sells them or knows people who do?
Must provide VAT receipt, or else be so cheap that the inc VAT total
is still cheaper.
People from a certain other mailing list will probably recommend
MDH, so I've already sent a query in that direction. Just thought
I'd see if anyone here is reselling.

thesslshop.com was by far the cheapest when I was last looking for a wildcard a month or
so ago. VAT was a non-issue for me though, so I don't know about that.

I use StartSLL and have found there support excellent.
I have not yet gone through validation for the wildcard SSL, but it looks fairly straight
forward.

StartSSL are great for regular domains (though I've not used any of their paid
services yet), but they refuse to support single character domains such as
"p.im" - according to their support team it because of fears of misuse of the
domain. I'm unconvinced by this argument, I think they were just fobbing me off.

Yes, this. I tried getting a cert for z.gg with StartSSL as a test
before going for a paid service for work. This was the response, from
the founder of the company, about why they don't do support short
domains:
This policy has been in place basically since ever and
we'll probably
will not support it. We could perhaps in the Extended Validation
level, but that's a significant verification process.
Based on that, I decided that they had fallen at the first hurdle and
went with a Comodo PositiveSSL wildcard for work.

I bought a Comodo PositiveSSL Certificate thru' them for knodium.com in
September.
I'm not sure what price you currently get, but they have quotes for
wildcard certificates.
I paid namecheap in US Dollars on my UK card and did not get a VAT
receipt. They then provided me with a link with which to obtain a
certificate from Comodo. It all worked but it wasn't an e-commerce flow
that I was familiar with. I'd recommend them if the price is right for you.

I use StartSSL and use their SAN and wildcard support One thing to point
out, the cost is for validation rather than individual certificates, so you
can issue multiple within the year as you like (assuming you can validate
the domain).
However like another has posted I had a particular domain rejected as being
too similar to other sites (despite owning the domain for longer), I agree
this is quite ridiculous but for me the cost implication of moving to
another supplier was rather huge. Otherwise their support is very good and
you can reissue certs as long as the main CN is different. Hence I've
started using a subdomain like c0.ssl.domain.com as the CN and added the
rest as SAN entries so that I could reissue as much as needed.

It was between these two in the end.
I was going to go with Namecheap because I knew more people had used
them and I thought it was going to be a GBP transaction, but I
changed my mind and used SSL Shop because:
- When I got to checkout with Namecheap it was going to be a credit
card transaction in USD anyway, the same as SSL Shop. They'd just
been presenting me prices in GBP up until then.
- Staying with RapidSSL meant I could get a renewal and they would
give a free month, unlike if I switched to Comodo. So I got 25
months.
However, it ended up costing $190 which is ~ £125 and then there
will be a charge on top for doing a USD transaction, so there
isn't much in it if you don't care about the renewal bit.
The provisioning process with Trustico is much smoother - they
generate a CSR for you and you only leave their site at the very end
to do the domain validation. I'm not paying more than twice as much
for that though.
