This isn't that much of a problem really, just means I don't have a
nice 'mail.*' MX entry.
Actually it's not such a red herring - a mail server with an A record
without a corresponding PTR record will more often than not be
disallowed to send mail. It is a very basic security check, one of the
many I do in order to keep spam at bay. Most mail senders with a
misconfiguration like this tends to be compromised hosts that spews UCE,
so if it is within your power to fix your DNS, please do so.
