1) Do I have a duty in law to maintain a
phishbot-virus-free VPS?
Not really in law but the ability to run your own server securely should
be a prerequisite to trying to run a server.
3) Has a bitfolk VPS owner ever been targetted by
phishbots? If so,
what were the symptoms and what were the ramifications?
I expect they target people and servers that are vulnerable. The fact it
could be running in a VPS or a 1024 core mainframe has absolutely no
bearing.
