Hi All,
can anyone speak on the necessary changes that will be required to an
external (godaddy) name host?
I have a bind setup on debian, and assume that I will need to change
the /etc/bind/zones/master/ file(s) as a result of this
invconvenience, and also need to visit godaddy and change some files
around.
I don't want to do anything hasty and cause everything to Greek on
me... so any help from this list would be appreciated.
My nameservice is a vital part of my infrastructure and I hesitate to
mess with it.
Are changes of this nature a regular occurrence here in bitfolkville?
Cheers,
Max
If I understand you correctly, then all you need to change on the server
are the zone files and the IP address BIND is listening on for external
requests (you'll want it to listen to both the old and the new address
for now). Depending on how you DNS is set up, you may also need to
update your glue record with GoDaddy.
