Yeah you don't usually get far trying to use the rust toolchain that is
packaged in distros as slow to update as Debian. Could probably just
type "rustup" to get a newer rust dev environment installed just for
your user. Even that might say it is too old and urge you to get a newer
one from <https://rustup.rs/> though.
