Technically this is pretty easy to do as managing virtuals via a GUI is
already there.
I think the problem with this one is packaging and pricing of a product
item (ie a VPS) and working out how to bill for it, so by the minute, by
the hour, by the day etc etc
Then you need to roll a new web based interface to capture that and
overlay it on the technical reality.
It is a lot of work but I can see how "Self service" for standardish
items and then having a costed menu of add-ons (1 G ram, 1 extra
processor etc etc) would be really useful for both clients and easing
some of the day to day provisioning off the back of the SA/s.
I guess it is a bit how like in games you can buy extra stuff, but only
if it has been presented as a packaged purchasable item already.
Looks like it could be a win/win, bi=ut does require some clever thought
and a bunch of writing web pages.
The downside to this is that too much churn and per diem billing for
such things is a bugger to capacity plan.
Just some thoughts for what they are worth.

I
suppose I was surprised that no-one has requested the ability to create and spin up a VPS
via the panel. And then to change specification. And remove it again.
I would actually like this, too. I'm looking to refresh/reinstall my
VPS and wondered what the quickest way to achieve this is.
I will send an email off-list, though.
