I’ve read this with interest - I’ve been wanting to be able to update the kernel without
having to manually edit menu.lst for some time now. However, I’m running CentOS, not
Debian and I don’t appear to have any of the files that you mention (at least not in the
paths that you mention). I know it can be done because I’ve had a CentOS VPS on Xen with
another provider in the past where kernel updates ‘just worked’.
Have you thought about how you would implement it for CentOS (7)? I’m happy to test
anything you come up with.
