Agreed. Under Windows, my clients are generally happy with FileZilla
and WinSCP. On the Mac, Fugu.app is pretty handy. I don't know
what to recommend in terms of a GUI app for SCP/SFTP on Linux
desktops, though.

Nautilus can do it in GNOME - just navigate to sftp://user@host/path. I
don't know for KDE.
