The immediate reason for your site "not working" is that there are no
active DNS records for it:
wry@onyx:~$ host -t soa
ilovephilosophy.com
Host
ilovephilosophy.com not found: 3(NXDOMAIN)
(Bitfolk's DNS servers are still serving your domain, but without that
delegation from the root servers the information doesn't get out.)
So let's dig in a little further:
wry@onyx:~$ whois
ilovephilosophy.com
Domain Name:
ILOVEPHILOSOPHY.COM
[...]
Status: clientDeleteProhibited
Status: clientHold
Status: clientTransferProhibited
Status: clientUpdateProhibited
Updated Date: 27-oct-2013
Creation Date: 26-oct-2001
Expiration Date: 26-oct-2014
[...]
[So that's the top-level WHOIS; it then goes on to query the
Tucows whois server:]
[...]
Registrar of Record: TUCOWS, INC.
Record last updated on 29-Aug-2012.
Record expires on 26-Oct-2013.
Record created on 26-Oct-2001.
Look at the expiration dates: Tucows think you've expired, but the
top-level whois server thinks you're active.
All together this suggests to me that Tucows (or, at least, their
automated systems) think the renewal is unpaid for some reason, or they
have misprocessed it somehow.
(It could be that Tucows auto-renews the registration, but without any
live DNS records, to prevent automated stealers of expired domains from
getting in on the action too quickly. I'm only speculating; I'm not a
customer of theirs.)
