00:58:15 <@grifferz> blop, agreed, sudo find /var/lib/apt/lists -type f -delete
&& sudo apt-get update
Probably works without apt-cacher then because the files in
/var/lib/apt/lists/ are by URL and apt-cacher has a different URL.
So, going back to a host that doesn't work:
$ sudo apt-get update
.
.
W: Failed to fetch
http://apt-cacher.lon.bitfolk.com/debian/security.debian.org/dists/squeeze/…
Hash Sum mismatch
Presumably if I delete some or all of these:
$ ls /var/lib/apt/lists/*apt-cacher*security*squeeze*updates*
/var/lib/apt/lists/apt-cacher.lon.bitfolk.com_debian_security.debian.org_dists_squeeze_updates_Release
/var/lib/apt/lists/apt-cacher.lon.bitfolk.com_debian_security.debian.org_dists_squeeze_updates_Release.gpg
then it's going to start working. Anyone got any ideas how to prove
which of these files is broken, for when this happens next time?
Cheers,
Andy
