I think this is a super idea.
I suspect that most of the trouble you are having getting people to pay
up is due to people being lazy rather that trying
to avoid payment. DDM (or even standing orders), would solve the problem
for many - including bitfolk.
I have many monthly DDMs and no annual ones because I have to take steps
to get the money together for those larger bills.
DDMs - yes. Monthly or quarterly please.
