An understandable view - although I would say that I set up a Postfix+Dovecot
mailserver for 50 users - and it has been running now for 3 years with zero
downtime - and zero maintenance beyond keeping it updated.
The hassle is in setting it up - if you can stomach putting in a few hours
work - you'll have a reliable system by the end of it.

I haven't used this exact howto, but I've used others to great success. Not
sure about iredadmin or iredmail - anyone used them?
Obviously you'd want fail2ban and iptables configured - but that's no
different from running any other bitfolk VPS.
The one thing you won't have is any support :/
