Also note that Ubuntu supports LTS to LTS release upgrades. So when
the next LTS comes out (_probably_ 10.04) then you should be able to
go direct from 8.04 to 10.04.
However, since Ubuntu have deprecated Xen as their preferred virtualisation
solution as passed maintenance to the community, presumably that means a
fault free upgrade isn't guaranteed?*
