In terms of sleep etc, you would probably be better off doing the
Eurostar to Belgium and getting the train from there. On the ferry,
even with a cabin, you have the unknown Channel weather plus the
hassles of immigration and customs on arrival.
I did the Harwich to Hook of Holland and reverse a few times a
long time back and remember the weather being pretty grim most times.
And no such comfort as a cabin, just four tier bunks crammed into every
possible corner, luxury was getting a top bunk.
