I am going to swap the hardware, but this will cause

planning first and then announce it for a later (but soon) date.
I'm in the process of arranging access to the colo in order to
move all customers on faustino to spare hardware (which is actually
higher spec than faustino since it was purchased more recently).
I plan to do this work from 0100Z (2am UK time) on the morning of
Monday 5th October. This is not yet definite; I have to arrange
access with the colo provider as I'll be doing some hardware tests
too and need to be personally present. But I am not expecting there
to be a problem with this, so am giving you as much notice as
possible.
I'm not 100% sure how long the work will take. I would say between
1 and 4 hours. I do not expect there to be any data loss, there
should simply be a clean shut down and then boot up on new hardware,
but I would urge all customers to ensure they have their own backups
also (and in general).
If anyone on faustino wants to order disk space for local backups
then I will give you the first month of this for free; please read
the instructions (
http://is.gd/3QPiq) and contact
support(a)bitfolk.com, this will then be set up tomorrow and Saturday.
I won't be charging customers currently on faustino for any of the
service in between when the original problem occurred (Wednesday
23rd September) and when it is rectified (hopefully Monday 5th
October). This will be done by extending your renewal dates out by
the correct number of days.
If you have any questions about the work that is to be undertaken,
please let me know on- or off-list.
Cheers,
Andy
