Hi,
This is my first time posting on this list so be gentle!

I run Debian Lenny on my VPS, and have recently added
lenny-backports to
my
/etc/apt/sources.list in order to get the latest version of Mercurial, as
a
repository I'm working on couldn't be used by the version on Lenny. This
was
a few weeks ago, and apt-get update worked fine then I think. Now I am
getting a 403 when running update:
[snip]
Err

lenny-backports/main Packages
403 Sorry, not allowed to fetch that type of file: Packages

403 Sorry, not allowed to fetch that type of file: Packages
E: Some index files failed to download, they have been ignored, or old
ones
used instead.
My /etc/apt/sources.list looks like this:
deb
http://apt-cacher.lon.bitfolk.com/debian/ftp.uk.debian.org/debian/
lenny main contrib
deb-src
http://apt-cacher.lon.bitfolk.com/debian/ftp.uk.debian.org/debian/
lenny main contrib
deb
http://apt-cacher.lon.bitfolk.com/debian/ftp.uk.debian.org/debian-backports/
lenny-backports main
deb
http://apt-cacher.lon.bitfolk.com/debian/security.debian.org/
lenny/updates main contrib
deb
http://www.backports.org/debian lenny-backports main contrib non-free
I'm getting a similar issue, but with me it's the Debian Volatile repo
(needed for things like updated ClamAV packages).
Does anyone know what is going wrong? Should I just
ignore it for now and
run upgrade?
I'm not sure, but it seems like it could be a configuration issue with the
apt cacher. I hope that Andy would pick up on this and comment, otherwise
I'll log a ticket.
For the record, the sources.list entry that creates the problem:
deb
http://apt-cacher.lon.bitfolk.com/debian/ftp.uk.debian.org/debian-volatile/
lenny/volatile main contrib non-free
The errors it creates:

---end--
Would there perhaps be a way to clear the local apt cache, for in case
this is actually a local apt database issue?
