doesn't sound like you really need it, but I'll chuck in my $0.02
+1 for a mailing list over web forums (which fail big time compared to
using a *proper* MUA).
Any argument about searchability or history or history browsing for
new/non-subscribers can easily be answered by an archivist like MarkMail
(http://markmail.org)
