The
social.bitfolk.com Mastodon server is at BitFolk, so it can't
be relied upon for reporting of problems at BitFolk. I could move
the server outside of BitFolk (while still calling it
social.bitfolk.com) but I did/do want to experience what it's like
running an instance myself, at BitFolk.
Alternatively, there is managed services which is the
recommended way if
you just need to add your domain to it.
Yes, an option would be to have
bitfolk(a)<something-else>.bitfolk.com and have a third party run
that.
I did not feel it is really important for it to have its own BitFolk
subdomain though. I could be persuaded either way. I can also change
it later and still automatically retain the followers.
