The topic of this thread is an interaction between newer versions and
grub and GPT disks (that we have not properly set up).
Most customer VPSes have MBR disks. The Debian installer defaults to MBR
disks. You can only get a GPT disk if you go in to expert mode to do it.
Our Ubuntu installs since 22.04 have used GPT disks because that is what
the Ubuntu Cloud image is supplied as.
