I was doing similar and f found that it got me to Bitfolk NS and resolved
it as a cname with the keiths-place ns servers added for that then when it
queried the keiths-place ns servers (on my other VPS called, surprisingly
keiths-place.co.uk) it was just getting lost
So I need to do a rewrite of the zone file for the reverse, along the lines
of what you said
