I agree; having thought about it some more, I cannot
hope to inform
everyone of what might happen and given the unsociable hours that
people generally prefer such work to be done at, it's not reasonable
to expect people to be around to fix their clocks/ntpd.
The other benefit with a conventional power cycle is that we really ought
to strive to configure our systems to survive them in an elegant manner
anyway given that such occurances can, and do, occur without warning
through circumstances beyond your/our control.
