I do something similar, and use zone edit. See zoneedit.com
When I (or my client) register the domain, I (they) set up the name
servers to the Zone Edit servers I have been given, and then
I point domains, and sub-domains where I want using a web interface.
And the cost is very modest - certainly less than the time taken to
understand bind.
