It depends if you need a lot of time to migrate things while the
services are down. If you don't need a lot of time (or don't care
how long the services are down) then I can just re-image your VPS as
Debian with the old content of your filesystem under /old. You would
then have to set your services back up.
I was thinking of maybe paying for an extra months
hosting and having a 2nd
server setup with a clean install and leaving me a month to get everything
transferred over and tested before taking the old 1 down
This would work. The down side here is that your account name and IP
address(es), v4 and v6, will change. The up side obviously being
that you have a month to move things across to the new IP.
