Well, possibly. But just because a host works for SSH doesn't mean
that it works for everything else it might be used for. For example
a web server might not have yet been configured to listen on that
IP.
So if I did that, there's a non-zero chance that I break something
for someone.
Whereas if I don't do anything until asked then there seems to be
less chance.
