n any case, my personal preferences are (and these are running on my VPS)

postfix for SMTP
[along with amavisd + clamav + postgrey + spamassassin]
dovecot for IMAP
both of these use an openldap backend for authentication and virtual
accounts.

roundcube for webmail. It's pretty and functional.

Just as an aside, if anyone on the "users" list prefers the list to
have an explicit Reply-To: header set then there is a version of the
list available which does this:
