What we know right now is that it was a distributed denial of
service attack directed at a single BitFolk customer. It was bad
enough to affect one of our transit provider's routers, which
flapped its BGP sessions.
After the BGP failed over things started getting back to normal
in terms of network performance around 2345Z, and the attack itself
appeared to stop around 0010Z.
Cheers,
Andy
