My friend, who supplies me with my broadband, uses a company called KashFlow (www.kashflow.co.uk) to generate my invoices and handle payments. It allows me to set up a standing order to him, which is nice and convenient. Not sure how much it costs, but it's cheap (and free for small numbers of customers). My friend hasn't had any problems that I'm aware of.

But I don't have a problem with Paypal myself; it's pretty no-nonsense from a buyer's point of view.

Might be worth looking into :)

Speaking for myself, I really do not mind the Paypal/Google or direct
transfer methods as things currently stands, and I am quite sure that most
Bitfolkers would echo this feeling. Why change?

A number of people have a violent anti-reaction to Paypal and Google
Checkout and the perceived lack of "direct" payment facilities puts
them off and makes Bitfolk look less professional.

It is already possible to use Paypal without an account to pay using
most major credit cards, but some people have an irrational aversion
to doing so. Despite the fact that any payment system I would come
up with is only going to end up going through one or more third
parties who charge similarly to Paypal anyway, lots of people seem
to prefer it that way.

While this is annoying, it happens enough that it's something I
think I should address at some point.

Cheers,
